Oliver Valves Injection Probes Head to Guyana for Whiptail FPSO

Oliver Valves Injection Probes Head to Guyana for Whiptail FPSO

Oliver Valves has supplied two D-Type Double Block and Bleed (DBB) valves fitted with injection probes to the Whiptail FPSO project offshore Guyana – the latest development in ExxonMobil’s prolific Stabroek Block.

The Whiptail field will be developed using the FPSO Jaguar, the first vessel from SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward? programme dedicated to the project. Designed to produce 250,000 barrels of oil per day with gas treatment and water injection capacity, the Jaguar is set to begin operations in 2027 and will have an anticipated field life of more than 20 years.

Oliver Valves’ injection probe-equipped DBB valves are playing a critical role in maintaining safe and reliable performance within this major deepwater project. Built to exacting standards, they provide dependable isolation and injection capabilities in the harshest offshore environments.

The Whiptail development is operated by ExxonMobil Guyana (45%), in partnership with Hess (30%) and CNOOC (25%), with an estimated investment of $12.7 billion. It marks the sixth production project in the Stabroek Block, cementing the region’s role as one of the world’s most important new oil basins.

This delivery marks the first in a series of projects featuring Oliver’s injection probes, which will be showcased over the coming weeks to demonstrate the company’s ongoing role in critical global energy developments.
